According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the definition of an Eagle Scout is a “Boy Scout who has reached the highest achievement of Scouting," or, “a straight-arrow and self reliant [person]”. In Troop 1, we believe in both the literal and figurative definition of becoming an Eagle Scout. While learning to tie knots and checking off merit badges is a part of getting to this rank, the responsibilities and morals that it takes to become an Eagle Scout are an equal, if not a more essential part of this achievement. It is a tremendously difficult task that only about 6 percent of all Scouts will reach. Every one of the following people have truly demonstrated what Scouting is about, having grit and being a strong leader despite any odds. They deserve much respect.
